From then to now

Established in March 1987, the Ethiopian Christian Fellowship Church in San Jose quickly became a beacon of faith, lovingly inviting people from every walk of life to encounter Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Under the steadfast guidance of Pastor Samson E. Tilahun, who has led for over 35 remarkable years, its mission continues to flourish. We stand firm on the promise of abundant and eternal life offered through Him (John 10:10).

Through God’s unwavering faithfulness, ECF in San Jose has blossomed, nurturing spiritual maturity, cultivating disciples, and extending Christ’s boundless love through vital outreach both within the Bay Area and across the globe.

We are deeply committed to gospel-centered collaboration, forging powerful partnerships with fellow believers worldwide to advance God’s kingdom as one.

We wholeheartedly embrace the transformative power of the Gospel, allowing it to resonate through every cultural heritage and background.

Flower with Green Background

Here are some of the many fellow and members of the Body of Christ we collaborate with:

  • The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Conference of North America
  • The Pacific District of the Mennonite Brethren Conference
  • The Evangelical Church Fellowship Council in Ethiopia

Together, we advance God’s Kingdom through fellowship, shared mission, and collaborative outreach.

Statement of faith

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ— in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for salvation.
